Welcome to Mareeba!

Mareeba is a small town situated in tropical Far North Queensland, with 300 sunny days a year.  

The place where I spent some happiest time in my life and where the people important for me still live. The final decision to leave Mareeba behind and stay in Poland was probably the most difficult in my life. I wanted to bring something typically Aussie with me to have the easier start so I bought an Aussie!!!:)

I was thinking of buying a dog DOWN THERE but it was hardly reasonable as Australian Shepherds in Australia are either show lines imported from Czech Republic (so it’s better for a dog to buy it closer and spare them the flight) or typically working lines with checkered pedigree that REALLY must be assigned some tasks all day long. They would not adapt to a city life with weekend herding sessions.

Sooo I started my small Mareeba Ranch with my family in 2016 buying our first dog and the farmJ. Each year we add one or two Mareeba inhabitants. They are family members. Even our goats are treated as creatures having the right to have some entertainment  and we share with them our joy of life.

Breeding Aussies is the most challenging task we have undertaken and we are conscious of the responsibility that is part and parcel of the breeding programme. We have a litter once a year and after busy two months with puppies, cleaning and feeding them at night we really hope to stay connected for the lifetime with them and their future families. Therefore, choosing the right home for each puppy is  crucial for us.

We try to breed puppies that would be as universal as possible – with a moderate drive, so that their temperament and willingness to work do not prevent them from  leading a happy family life in the city. However, in each litter there will be individuals, for which we will prefer a home, with the opportunity  of herding work on the regular basis.
Although we understand the charm of blue eyes and the current fashion for puppies with merle colouring, we recommend that you think carefully about the choice of breed  and not decide on the breed because of the Aussie’s beauty. These are very demanding dogs with very high intelligence and even in Europe still strongly focused on work. Certainly it is not a dog for everyone, although most lovers of quadrupeds are under its spell.
